Product Description The KICKER Comp Subwoofer swings the hammer better than anything else, while leaving enough bills to lay down on a power-packing KICKER amplifier too. It's got all the KICKER engineering firsts that made its subs famous - flex-fighting Inverted Structural Dome (ISD), double stitching on the surround, coil-cooling perimeter venting, and use in free-air applications as well as in vented or sealed boxes. But a rebalanced motor structure, along with revamped cosmetics, gives Comp users more bang for their well-earned buck than ever before.Newly engineered top plates, larger voice coils, and upgraded coil wire increased the heat tolerance and power handling, giving the user the most durability and most bass ever from a Comp subwoofer. The rigid cone has inherited back bracing to totally eliminate distortion. When they see it, they'll want it. Cone, ribbed surround with stitching, the basket design with a logo trim ring, and nickel-plated push terminals intimidate those who gaze upon it.
Amazon.com Product Description Even if your pockets don't overflow with dough, KICKER can still provide the best bass for the buck. The Comp Subwoofer represents the best balance between high value and high performance available in today's round-subwoofer market. It's equipped with all the proven KICKER engineering that you expect, and it's got a new look that leaves the impression that it has a mean streak. The best bass for the buck. Click to enlarge. | Highly engineered top plates. Click to enlarge. | Rigid back bracing completely eliminates distortion. Click to enlarge. | Besides its wicked good looks, the Comp comes with serious muscle, including double stitching on the surround, coil-cooling perimeter venting, and flex-killing ISD (Inverted Structural Dome). The Comp is versatile too, performing in free-air applications as well as in vented or sealed boxes. If all this wasn't enough, the Comp still leaves you with enough cash left over to throw down on a powerful KICKER amplifier to pump all the performance from your sub. The rigid cone's back bracing completely eliminates distortion, allowing the best bass to be delivered. The larger voice coils, coil wire with intense heat tolerance, highly engineered top plates, and immense power handling still remain, providing the most and best bass from any subwoofer in its class. And here's another first from KICKER--Spiralead tinsel-lead technology for even more strength and durability. With prices going up on everything else around, the Comp makes perfect sense for any factory upgrade. With the ribbed surround, yellow stitching, nickel-plated push terminals, and a basket design that includes a stylish logo trim ring, the Comp looks as good as it sounds and lets you know who's in the house. Four sizes are available, ranging from an 8-inch to an extremely affordable and loud 15-inch. C12 Features - SoloKon for strength and accuracy
- T cut top plate for magnetic field strength
- Polyimide (Kapton) coil former with Nomex reinforcement for high thermal capability
- Spiralead tinsel leads enable high excursion
- Ribbed surround

i got these in my 94 integra.. honestly they sounded crappy with a vinted box so i put a closed box and it hits much more harder.. so id say get a closed box if you buy these.. the performance is much more better and louder.. you can really hear it and feel it
Sweet 12 inch sub October 13, 2009 I. Love (Jax, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have this sub in a vented box. I'm running it with a Jensen 300 watt amp, and i think it sounds pretty dang good in the trunk of my 1990 corrolla. for its price, its a tough thing to beat. perfect for those who just dont want to shell out so much dough or for those who just dont need that much bass. i listen to lots of rap and rock, although techno is not good for a vented box, as the bass lags. for a starter system or just a small car, this'll be perfect for you.

Wow amazing subwoofer September 6, 2009 Larisa Voronina (El Cajon, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm going to keep the review simple:
Pros: Looks cool, in the box I used. It is very accurate, and provides depth to all music, from metal to rap. It gets LOUD- it puts out way more than my friend's dual MTX 10's
Cons: None Thus far
